Why We Built nothiring
The problem with hiring today
Anyone who has been on either side of the hiring table knows it: the process is broken. As candidates, we’ve spent hours tailoring resumes, only to hear nothing back. As hiring managers, we’ve scrolled through hundreds of profiles that look identical on paper but tell us nothing about the person behind them.
The gap between how people present themselves and who they actually are has never been wider.
What “fit” really means
We’ve been candidates. We’ve been hiring managers. We know that “fit” isn’t about keyword matching or years of experience — it’s about context, growth trajectory, and genuine alignment between what someone wants and what a team needs.
Yet most platforms optimize for volume: more applications, more profiles, more noise. They treat hiring as a transaction when it should be a connection.
A human-first approach
That’s why we built nothiring. Not another job board. Not another LinkedIn. A platform where:
- Tech professionals grow through real connections — mentorship, community validation, and career clarity come before job matching.
- Companies find validated talent — instead of filtering resumes, they discover professionals whose skills and culture fit have been verified by the community.
- Context matters — we bridge growth and hiring with transparency, giving both sides the information they need to make good decisions.
What’s different
Most platforms start with the job listing. We start with the person.
Before anyone gets “matched” to anything, they’ve already been part of a community that knows their work, their strengths, and their goals. When a company connects with someone on nothiring, they’re not cold-emailing a stranger — they’re reaching out to someone the community has already validated.
We don’t believe in hiring. We believe in finding the right people for the right places at the right time.
What’s next
We’re just getting started. In the coming months, we’ll be sharing more about our approach to mentorship, community-driven career growth, and how we’re rethinking the relationship between talent and companies.
If you’re a tech professional looking to grow, join the community. If you’re a company looking for talent that actually fits, let’s talk.
This is the first post on the nothiring blog. We’ll be writing about hiring, careers, mentorship, and building tech communities. Follow along via RSS.
